Pretty in Polka Dots
Welcome to A Chic Critique! I’m so excited about the launch of my new business, and can’t wait to share with you some of my style tips & inspiration here with you on my website.
One trend seen on the runways (featuring Spring 2010 lines) for this spring was the liberal use of polka dots! I’m loving Prabal Gurung’s sweet, flirty day dresses that can easily transition into cocktail attire – so pretty! Perfect with a little red clutch or shoulder bag.

Demure and feminine, the polka-dot print is a classic that continues to show up on designs over the years. Once again, it’s making an appearance this spring!
The key to wearing polka dots is to steer away from intense, vibrant colors and over-sized dots (unless you want to look clown-like)! Smaller dots are more subtle and figure-conscious; the larger the dots, the bolder your outfit will appear. However, pieces with larger dots may be worn sparingly – think a chiffon, sleeveless blouse with a cardigan layered over. All in all, just keep it simple : look for polka-dot prints that come in classic, subdued silhouettes.

How adorable is this top? Dress it up with dark skinny jeans and heels, or jean shorts (seen here) and flats. Put it on your wish list!
Be pretty in polka.
Stay chic,
